Good Thingsby Linda Watson-Brown - 16:12 on 30 September 2008Yesterday was an excellent day - half price Crunchie chocolate nuggets at the garage, James Blunt announcing that he'd stop singing if he was paid enough (the collection starts here) and a Very Good Idea from Adrian Mead. Adrian is an Edinburgh-based screenwriter and director who is also extremely successful as well as being one of the most generous people in the business with his time and advice. He and his partner run fantastic screenwriter courses that everyone with an interest in the business should attend, and he has recently added ChildLine telephone counsellor to his list of tricks. Spurred on by this latest venture, Adrian has written an e-book - not a “how to write” book but a manual that lays out exactly what you need to do in order to achieve a goal of becoming a professional screenwriter. Apart from a tiny admin cost, all proceeds from sales of MAKING IT AS A SCREENWRITER will go to ChildLine. By making it exclusively available as a download MeadKerr can maximize the funds the charity will receive. You can download your copy from http://www.meadkerr.com and your purchase will enable ChildLine to continue to offer support and help to children throughout the UK. I'm off to get my copy which sadly means that £7.79+VAT less will go to the 'Here's My Bank Details - Please Stop Now, James Blunt' campaign, but some things are even more important . . . If you're still dithering, MAKING IT AS A SCREENWRITER comes with some pretty impressive commendations:
